That #1 is a bold statement, but not one I totally disagree with. And yet, after seeing Lincoln three times, that's inching its way up to be my favorite of all his work (it doesn't have the boldness of Plainview or Bill the Butcher, but it has even more genuine heart).
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shout-out to Andersson in the Bergman film. I would actually give it up to Liv Ullmann in Scenes from a Marriage myself. But you ever see Summer with Monika. Andersson was very attractive in that film.
I'll have to think about what my list would be....
Never seen Summer With Monika but I've heard people say it's the first film where Bergman really became Bergman.
